Background and Aims: According to the Newell model, physical growth is the result of different constraints of the individual, environment and task, however, the empirical study of this model and the effect of these constraints on the effectiveness of training is limited. The aim of the present study was to compare the effect of ACE genotypes on the effectiveness of Spark motor interventions in the development of gross motor skills.
Materials and Methods: The statistical population included all 6 to 8 years old boys (7.4 ±1.45) in Tehran, 50 of whom were selected as a sample by cluster random sampling. The instrument was an Ulrich questionnaire and DNA was extracted from saliva. After determining the genotype, II (11), ID (25), DD (14), the children practiced in 24 training sessions for 8 weeks.
Results: The results of analysis of covariance showed that the effect of different ACE genotypes on the effectiveness of Spark exercise program on the performance of children's mobility skills (P = 0.005) was significant; But it is not significant on the performance of their ball skills (P = 0.14). In this regard, children with genotypes (DD) had more mobility skills than genotype (II).
Conclusion: These results confirm the Newell model in the effectiveness of various constraints on learning and growth. In this way, the ACE gene, as an individual constraint, plays a decisive role in promoting motor mobility and mobility in children
